Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for internal medicine: fertility and gynecological care, perimenopause and menopause, digestive issues, sleep, mood, and complex chronic conditions.
Treatment happens in the Philadelphia office or by telehealth, including when I'm abroad.
Herbal formulas are custom-written and dispensed through China Herb Company, and most plans combine acupuncture, herbs, and specific diet and lifestyle guidance rather than one in isolation.
If your issue is musculoskeletal, like back pain or a sports injury, I'll point you to Six Fishes Acupuncture or another practice convenient to you instead. Everything starts with a discovery call.
-
My practice specialization is internal medicine: gynecological and fertility concerns, perimenopause and menopause, digestive disorders, sleep, mood, and complex chronic conditions that don't have a clean diagnosis yet.
For back pain, sports injuries, or other musculoskeletal issues, I refer to Six Fishes Acupuncture, who also covers my practice when I'm abroad and can't see you myself. They're excellent at what they do, and it's not what I focus on.
(See "Why do you require a discovery call?" for how this gets sorted out before you book.)
-
Book a discovery call if you want to talk it through first, or go straight to a first appointment if you already know you're in. Either way, you'll fill out an intake form beforehand, so our first session goes straight into your case instead of paperwork.
-
It's a short conversation, not a sales pitch. I want to understand what's going on, and it's also how we figure out fit: Am I the best practitioner for you? If it is a fit, the call sets up everything that follows.
-
I focus on internal medicine because after decades of clinical experience, my diagnosis have depth: the cases that don't have a clean diagnosis yet, the ones three other providers have already tried and not solved. I co-authored one of the field's reference textbooks and still teach this medicine because I never stopped being curious about it. My herbal formulas are built case by case, not pulled from a fixed shelf. You're not getting a routine visit. You're getting someone who keeps digging until the pattern actually makes sense.
-
I’m a serious person, but I don’t take myself seriously.
Direct, a little sweary, and paying close attention. I ask a lot of questions before a single needle goes in, and I'll tell you honestly what's working and what isn't. Expect homework between sessions, not just an hour and a goodbye.
-
Yes, and rarely. Every formula I prescribe is third-party tested and CGMP-certified, sourced through China Herb Company. Herb-drug interactions are uncommon, but I review your full medication list before prescribing and flag anything worth a closer look. You're not getting a formula off a shelf; you're getting one built around what else is in your system.

Single sessions are billed per visit. The Health Journeys program bundles six sessions over three months at a reduced rate. Full pricing and insurance participation are on the Rates & Insurances page.
